'Church' to offer 'miracle cure' despite FDA warnings against drinking bleach

A group calling itself Genesis II Church of Health and Healing plans to convene at a hotel resort in Washington state on Saturday to promote a “miracle cure” that claims to cure 95% of all diseases in the world by making adults and children, including infants, drink industrial bleach. The group is inviting members of the public through Facebook to attend what they call their “effective alternative healing” at the Icicle Village Resort in Leavenworth on Saturday morning.

Sri Lanka bomber 'studied in UK'

One of the attackers behind the Easter Sunday bombings in Sri Lanka studied in the UK, officials say, as further details on the bombers begin to emerge.

"We believe that one of the suicide bombers studied in the UK and then later on did his postgraduate in Australia before coming back to settle in Sri Lanka," he said. Mr Wijewardene said that "most of [the attackers] are well educated and come from... middle or upper middle class" families.

Sri Lanka attacker studied in UK, says minister, amid warning more bombers on loose

One of the Sri Lanka bombers studied in the UK and Australia before carrying out the bombings, which may have been funded and inspired by Isis, the defence minister has said.

Eighteen suspects were arrested overnight, bringing the total number detained to 58, said police spokesman Ruwan Gunasekara, but Sri Lanka’s prime minister, Ranil Wickremesinghe, warned that several suspects armed with explosives were still loose.

Muslims in Sri Lanka were urged to pray at home on Friday and not attend mosques or churches after the State Intelligence Services warned of possible car bomb attacks, amid fears of retaliatory violence for the Easter Sunday bombings.

The U.S. embassy in Sri Lanka also urged its citizens to avoid places of worship over the coming weekend after authorities reported there could be more attacks targeting religious centers.
