Hours after a mechanized harvester chugged through the rice paddy, flames and a thick plume of black smoke rose into the twilight sky in India’s northern Haryana state as farmers burned the residue to prepare for the next season’s planting.

Also known as “junkets” or “round tables”, these sessions typically involve an actor talking to multiple journalists at once; the writers, often from different countries, then translate the quotes and stitch them together into some kind of article.

“Starting with two basic assertions: that men have a stronger libido than women, and that men struggle with monogamy more than women do.”

She hopes her work will help validate the feelings of the next generation of young women: “It’s not about giving them permission to ‘cheat’, not even giving them permission to refuse monogamy, but I hope it does give them permission to feel normal if they don’t like monogamy,” she says.
