Having three airports in Washington is great. Until you go to the wrong one.

Thursday 01:32 GMT

It often falls to Omland to break the bad news to someone who has stumbled into the dark side of having three major airports serving one city: 1) You are at the wrong one.

Having a super-abundance of airports is considered a big-city perk in Washington, as in New York, London and other major hubs. But with greater choice comes a greater chance that you will find yourself at, say, National Airport while your flight is boarding at one of the other two, Washington Dulles International or Baltimore-Washington International Marshall.

Here come the big government Republicans!

Friday 08:07 GMT

Reagan's Republican Party, built on enthusiasm toward markets and skepticism toward government, would never have embraced big government the way President Trump's party has.

Apparently it's time for big government to step in, whether by nudging companies to keep factories in the U.S., trying to reorder the global trading system, or creating another middle-class entitlement in the form of paid leave.

DACA Deal: GOP should join Trump in demanding real immigration reform in exchange for any amnesty

Saturday 03:20 GMT

President Trump was right to demand Wednesday that new immigration legislation provide at least $25 billion to secure our southern border, end chain migration that allows legal immigrants to bring their extended families to the U.S., and end a diversity lottery system that gives preferential treatment to immigrants from nations that send few people to America.

Nonetheless, an amnesty for a real reform deal – far more generous than the one President Trump campaigned on and more generous than one I would personally support – is one that most conservatives can accept.

Reagan National’s rehab project will create some pain for drivers and travelers

Sunday 10:50 GMT

Work begins next week on a $1 billion revitalization project at Reagan National Airport that officials say will deliver a new concourse for short-hop flights and new security screening areas in 2021.

They ought to be very sensitive to what experience they are providing for people who are trying to get in and out of the airport and whether they are maintaining the principal benefit of Reagan, which has always been that it is convenient to get in and out,” Gilbert said.

Trump slams FBI over 'missed signals' on Florida shooting, asserts Russia was distraction

Sunday 14:30 GMT

They are still dissatisfied with its decision not to charge Hillary Clinton with crimes related to her use of a private email server, and they see signs of bias in special counsel Robert Mueller's probe of possible Trump campaign ties to Russia.

President Donald Trump urged the FBI to “get back to the basics” Saturday night after an embarrassing series of mistakes in connection with the Parkland, Fla., massacre. “Very sad that the FBI missed all of the many signals sent out by the Florida school shooter,” the president tweeted late Saturday.
