Following the bitterly partisan, acrimonious confirmation battle over Associate Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., warned in an interview on Tuesday that heated political rhetoric has the potential to turn deadly.

"I really worry that somebody is going to be killed, and that those who are ratcheting up the conversation ... they have to realize they bear some responsibility if this elevates to violence." Paul's wife, Kelley, revealed in a Breitbart News interview on Friday that she sleeps with a "loaded gun by my bed," has updated her home's security system and has "deadbolts all around my house."

Eric Holder rejects Michelle Obama's call for civility: 'When they go low, we kick 'em'

"Michelle always says -- I love her; she and my wife are like, really tight, which always scares me and Barack -- but Michelle always says, 'When they go low, we go high.'

After raucous applause, Holder, who served in the Obama administration from 2009 to 2015, added: "That's what this new Democratic Party is about." Michelle Obama had used the conciliatory line in her address to the 2016 Democratic National Convention to draw a contrast to then-candidate Donald Trump's rhetoric.

Saudi ruler ordered detention of missing journalist Jamal Khashoggi, report says

Mohammed bin Salman, the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, ordered that Washington Post contributor Jamal Khashoggi be lured to that country from his home in the U.S. and detained, the paper reported Wednesday evening.

Khashoggi, 59, has not been seen since he entered the Saudi consulate in Istanbul on Oct. 2. Turkish officials have said that they believe Khashoggi was murdered and dismembered inside the building by members of an elite "assassination squad."

Michelle Obama rebukes Holder, Clinton over calls for political warfare

Former first lady Michelle Obama on Thursday openly challenged calls from Hillary Clinton and Eric Holder for Democrats to eschew civility in favor of confrontational politics, saying she "absolutely" stands by her famous slogan, "when they go low, we go high."

Obama, who was on the show to promote a new project called the Global Girls Alliance, was responding to a question about comments by former Attorney General Holder and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, both of whom served in her husband's Cabinet.

Trump, rallying in Kentucky, blasts Dems' 'chilling lust for power'
