Atlanta child murders evidence to be re-examined by investigators

Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms and Atlanta Police Chief Erika Shields, speaking at a news conference, said that technology has changed "considerably" since the murders and could finally give families of the unsolved killings a definite answer as to who was behind the slayings of their children. "It may be there is nothing left to be tested," Bottoms told reporters.

Four decades after the Atlanta area was rocked by the killings of more than 20 children and young adults, officials announced Thursday they plan to re-test evidence from the cases.

ICC to examine Mexican ex-presidents' guilt in over 100 journalist murders

Reporters Without Borders and Mexican nonprofit Propuesta Civica have asked the court to prosecute two former Mexican presidents for criminal negligence in "crimes against humanity" — the deaths of over 100 journalists.

Franco Yanez underlines that "the ICC has been criticized for focusing too much on Africa and neglecting other parts of the world, like Latin America, even though impunity is a global problem."

Ex-CFL linebacker Anthony McClanahan pleads guilty in brutal 2017 murder of wife

A former professional football player, who once trained with the Dallas Cowboys in the 1990s, pleaded guilty Monday to the November 2017 murder of his wife.

Anthony Darnel McClanahan’s guilty plea was part of a plea bargain in which prosecutors agreed to remove a domestic violence designation and child kidnapping against him, FOX 13 Salt Lake City reported. Chemnitz murder trial begins amid questions of impartiality

The trial of Alaa S. began in Dresden on Monday morning in the middle of a media scrum and fears of far-right protests, following the killing last year of Daniel H. in Chemnitz — an incident that led to a week of unrest and ugly violence in the city.

Aware of the politically-charged nature of the trial, defense attorney Ricarda Lang filed an objection before proceedings began, asking that the court ensure that the lay judges (Germany's equivalent of a jury) were not members of far-right groups like Pegida and Pro Chemnitz or the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party.
