Senior federal rail official resigns over questions about ‘outside work,’ Transportation Department says

The deputy administrator of the nation’s top railroad safety agency has resigned after allegations were raised about “outside work” he took on while employed as a senior federal official, the Transportation Department said Saturday.

Hall had an earlier stint at the Federal Railroad Administration as an intern and served as public affairs director for former Mississippi governor Kirk Fordice (R), for whom the spokesman said he performed “work across transportation sectors, including rail, on issues ranging from infrastructure, safety and communications, both in Mississippi and the surrounding region.”

Federal railroad official resigns after link to Mississippi PR firm: report

The acting chief of the Federal Railroad Administration resigned Saturday after a wesbite inquired whether he was moonlighting as a public relations consultant in Mississippi.

Since his appointment in June, he has worked for a public relations and political consulting firm in Madison County, Miss., despite having promised the firm would be “dormant” during his time at the FRA, Politico reported.

Nikolas Cruz 'school shooter' comment reported to FBI months ago, vlogger says

The FBI received a tip months before Wednesday's Florida high school shooting that claimed gunman Nikolas Cruz wrote about being "a professional school shooter" on social media, according to the vlogger who told authorities.

Rob Lasky, FBI Special Agent in charge of FBI’s Miami division confirmed during a Thursday morning news conference the agency investigated a comment made on a YouTube video in September that matched the remark reported by vlogger Ben Bennight.
