Jody Wilson-Raybould became thorn in Liberals’ side before SNC-Lavalin case

Sunday 14:29 GMT

As the frigid air of an Ottawa winter howled outside in January 2013, Jody Wilson-Raybould stood at the centre of a mass of national media, trying to be a peacemaker as First Nations chiefs from across the country battled over how to secure a meeting with the sitting government on their terms.

Singh says Trudeau should ‘welcome’ ethics investigation into alleged direction in SNC-Lavalin case. Several Liberals approached Friday said they were confident the story came from Wilson-Raybould herself.

Roy Green: Jody Wilson-Raybould, this is no time to be a Liberal Party team player

Sunday 15:24 GMT

Jody Wilson-Raybould is doubtless raising anxiety levels in the Prime Minister’s Office and with the prime minister himself.

As for the PMO, if indeed either the Office or the Prime Minister did indeed attempt to interfere with a criminal matter, an entirely new police investigation may well await.

Roy Green: Are the federal Liberals on a collision course again?

Today 08:59 GMT

As the days pass since the initial Globe and Mail story of alleged PMO interference with former attorney general Jody Wilson-Raybould, who has since resigned from the federal cabinet, the iceberg metaphor increasingly appears justifiable.

Jody Wilson-Raybould became thorn in Liberals’ side before SNC-Lavalin case. The Liberal party in general — and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in particular — have failed to skillfully navigate the growing threat of a possible and lurking national scandal.
