JOHN WALKER LINDH, AMERICAN EX-TALIBAN FIGHTER, TO BE RELEASED IN MAY, HASN'T DENOUNCED ISLAMISM. That Lindh might someday decide to go back to the battlefield as an illegal combatant really doesn’t enter the calculus of the law.

Why? It’s a very safe bet that U.S. security officials will assess Lindh as a “continuing risk” and put him on a terrorist watch list.

Northern Ireland made a winning start to their Euro 2020 qualifiers with Niall McGinn and Steven Davis on target in a 2-0 victory over Estonia.

With Northern Ireland drawn in a difficult group alongside European giants Germany and the Netherlands - only two countries to qualify for Euro 2020 - manager Michael O'Neill had emphasised the necessity of building early momentum and getting early points by beating lower ranked teams Estonia and Belarus in their first two games.

JOHN WALKER LINDH, AMERICAN EX-TALIBAN FIGHTER, TO BE RELEASED IN MAY, HASN'T DENOUNCED ISLAMISM. Moving to Ireland became an option for Walker Lindh after he obtained citizenship there, while still in prison, sometime in 2013 thanks to his family’s lineage.

The Irish citizenship law allows for anyone, within certain restrictions, to ask for citizenship if at least one of their grandparents was an Irish citizen born in Ireland.
