After Hurricane-Related Delays, Miami Real Estate Bounces Back

Residential real estate sales in Miami bounced back in October after two months of delayed inspections, appraisals and closings following Hurricane Irma, according to a report Tuesday by the Miami Association of Realtors and the Multiple Listing Service.

“Now that re-inspections are being completed and tree debris has been mostly removed, Miami real estate is back to another strong month of home sales. The rise in luxury home sales showcases the strength of Miami’s market fundamentals.”

Once Shopped for $135M, Dallas Estate Will Go to Highest Bidder

A 25.25-acre estate owned by billionaire banker Andy Beal in Dallas, Texas, will be auctioned off without reserve on Dec. 19.

The gated residence is a 30-minute drive to two international airports (Dallas Love Field and Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport), although it has its own helipad for more convenient flying-in-and-out.

My stepfather left $1 million to strangers and dead people

When my stepfather died recently, as a successor trustee I discovered that he had left a list of monetary gifts to be paid immediately upon his death totaling nearly $1 million.

Additionally, there are irregularities in some of the named people on the list (one is dead, another no one ever heard of, and that’s just for starters). The list is comprised entirely of his relatives from another country, most of whom he had not seen in many years.
