Head in the clouds: the woman scaling fresh climate change heights

Sunday 10:48 GMT

I know when I climb in the forest, that compared with when I started here 39 years ago, the canopy dwelling plants – the mosses, the filmy ferns – they were much more abundant, much more plush, much more … just wet, than they are now.”

“The fact that the cloud forest is changing means we have to adapt in terms of the story we tell, to be able to understand the process, and then explain to visitors about the process and still be able to demonstrate that Monteverde is a unique destination not just because of the cloud forest but because of our capacity to teach about climate change.

'Creatures' in Jupiter's clouds NASA's Juno spacecraft captures images that stun the internet

Saturday 15:25 GMT

"A multitude of magnificent, swirling clouds in Jupiter's dynamic North North Temperate Belt is captured in this image from NASA's Juno spacecraft. Appearing in the scene are several bright-white “pop-up” clouds as well as an anticyclonic storm, known as a white oval," NASA explained in an online statement.

A cloud in the shape of a dolphin appears to be swimming through #Jupiter’s cloud bands in this series of color-enhanced images," NASA pointed out in a late November tweet, sharing a GIF of the images snapped by Juno. "The 'dolphin' feature is roughly 4,660 miles (7,500 kilometers) length," NASA later added.

Team Sky: Adoration, loathing and ambivalence - now clouds fall across Sky's future

Friday 15:25 GMT

By the end with Team Sky, what had begun as a happy love affair for most Britons had divided its followers into three implacable factions: those who still adored them unconditionally, those convinced that they were malevolence personified and those who liked much of what they achieved but not necessarily all they did in its pursuit.

Sky sprang from Britain's unprecedented Olympic success on the track and initially felt like that Manchester Velodrome medal factory taken out on the road: the same coaches, the same star riders, the same nerdish attention to detail fuelled by unparalleled funding.
