Don't pin the opioid crisis just on Purdue. Blame big pharma, too

Few will mourn Purdue Pharma if the drug maker is buried by the flood of lawsuits over its cynical and calamitous push to sell its powerful narcotic painkiller, OxyContin, to people who didn’t need it.

As much as the rest of pharma might like to blame this colossal tragedy on one bad apple in order to obscure its own part, the failure to address the industry’s capture of medical practice and regulation will keep this epidemic rolling for years to come.

Democrats bear some blame for the Trump-Kim summit collapse

If Democrats want to improve America’s international relationships anytime soon, those progressives will need to push their way to the party’s center as soon as possible.

Who is responsible for the abrupt collapse of peace negotiations between Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un in Hanoi last month? Though the summit’s failure does not mean the end of the peace process on the Korean peninsula – both sides were restrained and polite in their commentary afterward, with no insulting tweets or impromptu missile tests – it is a serious setback.
