The United States ambassador, Nikki R. Haley, said Russia had effectively said it “accepts the use of chemical weapons in Syria.”

Unlucky or deluded One man’s attempt to swim the Atlantic

One sunny morning last November, Ben Hooper, a 38-year-old former policeman, waded into the Atlantic Ocean from a beach in Dakar, Senegal, and plunged right in.

If successful, he would become the first person to swim across the Atlantic Ocean – 12 miles a day for over 140 days straight – an unfathomable feat. Hooper had been in Dakar for six weeks, preparing to swim to Natal, northeast Brazil, 1,879 miles away.

The absolute horror of the Republican tax bill has been somewhat obscured recently by the never-ending deluge of mass shootings, rambling madness from President Trump, and sexual harassment allegations against, apparently, every fourth man on planet Earth.

The bill did pass the House, and it is nothing less than all-out class war on the 99 percent by the plutocracy holding the reins of the Republican Party.

The conclusion only amplified Carroll’s baffling decision at the end of the first half, when Seattle ran a fake field goal rather than having Walsh attempt a 35-yarder that would have pulled Seattle within 24-20.

President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Rex Tillerson both cited February's assassination of Kim Jong-nam, the half-brother of North Korean strongman Kim Jong Un, as among their reasons for re-designating North Korea as a terrorist state on Monday.

An NBC News review of open source material, however, shows that North Korea has been linked to at least five assassination attempts since 2008, when President George W. Bush removed North Korea from the list of terrorist nations.
