Could flexitarianism save the planet?

Sunday 07:08 GMT

“If we continue with our current levels of meat consumption, it’s very likely that we will have more flooding, more hurricanes, extreme weather that is associated with exceeding the two-degree target for climate change ... if nothing is done then those pressures could increase by 50 to 90% and by that time it will basically exceed all environmental limits or so-called planetary boundaries that define a safe operating space for humanity.”

Sunday 05:08 GMT

Tucker Carlson reacted Friday moments after Robert Mueller, through a spokesman, denied the veracity of a potentially damning Buzzfeed report about President Trump and his ex-lawyer Michael Cohen.

Carlson reported that Buzzfeed's story claimed Trump told Cohen to lie to Congress about a plan to build a Trump Tower in Moscow. Peter Carr, a spokesman for the special counsel's office, said that Buzzfeed's "description of specific statements to the Special Counsel’s Office, and characterization of documents and testimony obtained by this office, regarding Michael Cohen’s Congressional testimony are not accurate."

BuzzFeed rocks media industry after Mueller team disputes report: ‘Media errors are always anti-Trump’

Sunday 05:08 GMT

The office of Special Counsel Robert Mueller rocked the media industry Friday night by refuting a bombshell BuzzFeed News report that would have directly implicated President Trump in a crime – but instead provided critics of modern journalism with their latest round of ammunition.

“The major problem is that the news industry is over-eager to cover the Mueller probe, but has very little confirmed content with which to work. Mueller's office has been remarkably disciplined and leak-free, leaving hungry reporters little with which to work, other than the formal court documents, which hardly satisfies the news industry's hefty appetite on this matter,” McCall said.

Tran Thi Ngai was 24 and alone at home in her village in Vietnam’s Phu Yen province when a South Korean soldier forced his way into the house and raped her.

A campaign group, Justice for Lai Dai Han (JLDH), is urging the country to recognise both the tens of thousands of children born as a result of rape by Korean troops, and their mothers, of whom around 800 are still alive today.
