Saudi man facing sexual assault charges in Nova Scotia ‘fled’ after embassy posted bail

Nova Scotia’s prosecution service says Mohammed Zuraibi Alzoabi had $37,500 of his bail posted by the Saudi Arabian embassy last year in relation to the alleged sexual assault, assault and forcible confinement of the woman between Aug. 1, 2015 and March 26, 2017.

Alzoabi is facing separate charges of dangerous driving and assault with a car in a December 2015 incident involving a Cape Breton man.

A rare example of an 1885 Trade Dollar, intended to help improve commerce with China, sold for $3.96 million in Dallas, Texas, last week.

“Owning an 1885 Trade Dollar is a privilege reserved for only the most elite numismatists, and owning the finest-known specimen is to own an enduring symbol of numismatic and American history,” Rohan said in the release. The coin is made of 90% silver and 10% copper, weighing 27.20 grams and measuring 38.10 millimeters in diameter.
