Harvey Weinstein, the veteran Hollywood producer, is expected to turn himself in to authorities Friday in connection with a sex-crimes investigation, people familiar with the matter said Thursday.

Mr. Weinstein is expected to face charges in connection with Lucia Evans, who has alleged that Mr. Weinstein forced her to perform oral sex on him in New York City in 2004 when she was an aspiring actress, according to a law-enforcement official familiar with the matter.

Members of a U.S. House panel on Wednesday pressed U.S. sports officials to explain how sexual abuse has gone on so long in Olympic sports and what the U.S. Olympic Committee and individual sports are doing to prevent it from happening again.

Six sports leaders testified to their actions to clean up Olympic sports in the wake of reported abuse by Larry Nassar, the longtime U.S. women’s gymnastics team physician now serving an effective life sentence for child pornography and sexual abuse convictions.

The 'toxic' couple who murdered their au pair

Investigators never found the au pair's passport and a plane ticket her mother had bought her to return to France and believe the couple may have confiscated them. The court was told about Kouider's erratic behaviour, including during her two-year relationship with Mr Walton.

Woody Allen and Mia Farrow’s adopted son, Moses Farrow, on Wednesday defended his father from allegations of sexual assault made by his sister.

In a nearly 5,000-word post, Moses elaborated further on claims he had made in previous interviews that his mother was physically abusive to him and her other children and that she coerced her daughter Dylan into accusing Allen of assault. “I’m a very private person and not at all interested in public attention,” Farrow wrote in the post titled A Son Speaks Out.

Teen on house arrest accused of killing baby sparks anger after spotted dining out

Residents of an Ohio town took to social media to express their anger after a teenage girl, who is accused of killing her newborn and is on modified house arrest, was spotted dining out at a restaurant.

Few details have been released regarding the baby’s death but Warren County prosecutors accused Richardson of killing, burning and burying the infant. Last month, a judge modified Richardson's house arrest and ruled the teenager would have to observe a curfew of 9 p.m. through 7 a.m., and be supervised via GPS monitoring and random home visits.

K2 crackdown in NYC: Police warn of "dangerous batch" after 56 overdoses reported

Police in New York City are cracking down on the illegal sale of the K2 drug after reporting more than 50 overdoses and a dozen arrests in Brooklyn in recent days, reports CBS New York.

"K2 in and of itself is very dangerous, but what we're seeing over the last couple of days with 56 confirmed overdoses, there is a very dangerous batch circulating right now in Brooklyn. Eight of those arrested are accused of selling the K2, a synthetic compound that mimics the effect of THC, the most psychoactive ingredient in marijuana.

FBI thwarts potential cyberattack on Ukraine

US investigators and cybersecurity experts have disrupted a potential cyberattack focused on Ukraine before it could happen, according to court documents.

While investigators said the hackers' motives remain unclear, Ukraine's SBU state security service said the potential cyberattack showed Russia was readying a large-scale disruption of a "large-scale event" in Ukraine, such as the Champions League soccer final, due to be held in Kyiv on Saturday, or upcoming Constitution Day celebrations in late June.

Comcast confirmed on Wednesday that it is working on a plan to challenge Disney's $52.4 billion bid for major parts of Rupert Murdoch's Twenty-First Century Fox empire.

Comcast, which owns NBCUniversal, did not detail the size of its potential offer but said it would be in cash and worth more than Disney's bid, which is in stock, Comcast said in a press release. Comcast confirmed on Wednesday that it is working on a plan to challenge Disney's $52.4 billion bid for major parts of Rupert Murdoch's Twenty-First Century Fox empire.

Synthetic marijuana is causing overdoses in the U.S. — what’s the risk in Canada?

New York officials are warning the public to be vigilant after dozens of people were hospitalized over reactions to synthetic marijuana known as K2.

Health Canada explained in a press release at the time that it works with all levels of government to stop synthetic marijuana from entering Canada. The products were labelled Brainfreeze Potpourri or Brainfreeze Herbal Incense, and being sold online as well as in some stores.

A Texas state trooper has received thousands of death threats, his father tells Fox News, after a woman accused a different trooper with the same last name of sexually assaulting her during a traffic stop, only to be contradicted by video evidence.

King and civil rights attorney Lee Merritt identified the accused trooper as “Officer Hubbard” or “Hubbard,” without revealing his first name. The threats poured in after columnist and activist Shaun King brought attention to the accusations on Twitter, but before body cam video contradicted those allegations.

FDA warns benzocaine gel teething products are unsafe, wants them off the market

Federal health officials warned parents Wednesday about the dangers of teething remedies that contain a popular numbing ingredient and asked manufacturers to stop selling their products intended for babies and toddlers.

"We urge parents, caregivers and retailers who sell them to heed our warnings and not use over-the-counter products containing benzocaine for teething pain," said FDA Commissioner Scott Gottlieb, in a statement.
