Now, Brown, who pleaded guilty to the murders, has confessed to police that he shot a neighbor in 1988 after the man, Bryce Kenneth Tompkins, who was 45, saw him commit a burglary.

The real-life Grim Reaper made headlines after his arrest in the murder this past March of his wife, Michele Brown, 53, and his stepdaughter, Tammy Greenawalt, 35.. Brown tied Greenawalt to a rocking chair and stabbed her.

CSU's Horst Seehofer hints at willingness to step down

A judge in Mississippi declared a second mistrial earlier this month in the case of a man accused in the burning death of the 19-year-old after a jury once again could not reach a verdict. Panola County Circuit Judge Gerald Chatham made his ruling in the trial of Quentin Tellis after jurors deliberated for about 10 hours during two days.

Cyr, known as the Buddhist Chef, says the vegan lifestyle has come into the mainstream, a trend he says is proven by the ever-growing popularity of Vegan Festival. Cyr says he has seen greater interest in veganism over the years, particularly in Montreal, with its younger student population and several universities.

U.S. general wounded in attack in Afghanistan

A U.S. general was wounded in an attack last week in Afghanistan’s Kandahar province that killed two senior Afghan provincial officials and targeted a group that included the senior U.S. commander in the country, four people with knowledge of the assault said.

U.S. military officials in Afghanistan and at the Pentagon have declined to comment on the attack or identify the wounded, describing them only as an American service member, an American civilian and a contractor who is part of the military coalition.

Trial of eight accused of murdering Honduran activist in chaos

The trial of eight men accused over the murder of Honduran indigenous leader Berta Cáceres has been thrown into disarray after judges ousted the victim’s lawyers from proceedings.

In a statement, the family said: “This fraudulent decision by the court leaves us the victims completely defenceless, because, for two years and a half, the Public Prosecutor’s Office has demonstrated its inability and unwillingness to follow correct judicial process… it shows a commitment by the authorities to maintain in total impunity the criminal structure responsible for the systematic attacks against Copinh and the murder of Berta Cáceres.”
