Rubio can't say whether he supports Trump picks for U.N., attorney general

Sen. Marco Rubio needs more information about President Trump's picks for attorney general and U.N. ambassador before deciding whether to support their nominations, he said on "Face the Nation" Sunday.

Rubio said he wants to meet with both nominees and review their qualifications before saying whether he will vote to confirm them. Barr has made some comments critical of special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation, and Nauert was a Fox News host with no government experience when she joined the State Department.

While the FBI may not consider them extremist, the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) considers the Proud Boys as a hate group whose members are known to spread imagery and organize events surrounding white nationalism. Three arrested in violent clashes after far-right Proud Boys speech in New York City . The group was founded in 2016 by Gavin McInnes, the Canadian co-founder of Vice Media who last year was heavily criticized for making a video in which he listed the “10 things he hates the most about Jews.”

China launches first space probe to far side of the moon

China has launched a probe destined to become the first rover to land on the far side of the moon, state media reported on Saturday.

Because signals cannot travel in a straight line between the earth and the moon's far side, China launched the Queqiao ("Magpie Bridge") relay satellite into the moon's orbit in May.
