Trump cancels US delegation’s trip to Davos summit, Sanders says

President Trump has canceled the U.S. delegation’s upcoming trip to the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, “out of consideration” for furloughed Americans amid the partial government shutdown, White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said in a statement Thursday.

“Out of consideration for the 800,000 great American workers not receiving pay and to ensure his team can assist as needed, President Trump has canceled his Delegation’s trip to the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland," the statement read.

Coming off the historic 2018 midterm elections, with 102 women elected to the House of Representatives, 14 women elected to the Senate, and nine women elected governor, it appears the Democratic party is looking to ride the women’s wave all the way to the White House.

Anti-vaxxers, or those who oppose vaccines, were deemed a top "threat to global health" in 2019 by the World Health Organization (WHO). "Vaccine hesitancy," as the United Nations agency calls it, "threatens to reverse progress made in tackling vaccine-preventable diseases."

Among other threats to the world's health, according to WHO, are air pollution and climate change, an expected global flu pandemic, noncommunicable diseases like diabetes and cancer and HIV.
