White House Considering Cleveland Fed President Mester for Fed’s No. 2 Job

Ms. Mester has led the Cleveland Fed since 2014 and before that spent nearly 30 years as an economist at the Philadelphia Fed, roughly half that time as the bank’s research director.

The White House is considering nominating Loretta Mester, the president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, as vice chairwoman of the Federal Reserve Board in Washington, according to people familiar with the matter.
